Obituary of Evelyn Davis

Evelyn M. Davis (nee Rossi) Age 61, of Joliet, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Born February 19, 1950 in Joliet, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Rossi. She was a graduate of Providence Catholic High School Class of 1968, and attended the College of St. Francis. For the past 11 years, she served as a teacher's aide for St. Paul the Apostle Preschool. She previously worked for Providence Catholic High School, 12 years. Evelyn was a proud mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed her weekend trips with her husband especially when they included shopping. She battled breast cancer for two years, but was adamant about helping others with cancer including forming Evelyn's Entourage which participated in the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk. Her courage was an example to many. Surviving are her beloved husband of 41 years, James P. Davis; her children, Craig (Jennifer) Davis and Julie (Mark) Jodlowski; five precious grandchildren, Zachary, Noah and Chloe Davis, and Haley and Hanna Jodlowski; and two Godchildren, Kristin Kucinic Bozych and Christine Davis Autenreith. Funeral services for Evelyn M. Davis will be Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in resurrection Cemetery.
