We grew up across Moulton St in Pontiac from your mom and her parents. The day Irene married Stan is indelible in my memory. She came across the street in her wedding gown to show us and say hello. So lovely. I think it was April 18 or 19 of about 1960 or so. In all my life in have never met a person of such faith, hope and love as Irene. May the Lord Bless her and keep her. May her family know peace. May Irene pray for us.
It is sad to say I just found out today of her passing.

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother and a great friend of mine! Your mom's years of service first a director of religious education at St John's, then years in her role as Service Commission organizing funeral luncheons, receptions for the priests' anniversaries or the novices first professions - she was always there working quietly behind the scenes.
Let's also not forget those Sunday dinners at your home with myself and Ike Almanza as frequent guests. The afternoon started with martinis served by either your father or Val Rand with neighbor John joining the group. Or that after Christmas Sunday when your mom complained about the need to repaint the living room so several of us got up and by midnight, the room was done.
Great memories, great people and great times! We miss your dad, but the loss of your mom creates a void that cannot be replaced. May she enjoy eternal light with the saints in heaven!

We are not to know why HE chooses to take those we love. We do know that HE has a plan an we are not to question it. I pray your hearts heal and soon you begin to no longer see your dear Mother as weak and ill. You will remember the beautiful, healthy, amazing person she was. Those beautifull memories will warm your heart and put a smile on your face every day. May God Bless you all as you heal from this loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of Irene from many visits north that she spent across the street at Mary & Tim's, and also when I would come to the Tyrrell Complex in Shorewood. She made me feel like another child of hers. I will miss her so much, and am thankful she is not suffering anymore, at home with our Lord, your dad and brother. I pray for all of you that you may be able to find some comfort in knowing how much she loved each and every one of you (you were all her "favorite" - or she wouldn't have given you shirts that said so!), and her grandchildren, and the great-grand babies. She is a sassy, classy lady - no one can take her place in my heart.
