Obituary of Richard C. Webb
Richard Charles Webb
Age 71, at rest, June 7, 2017 after a long battle with diabetes. He was born April 26, 1946 in Joliet, IL to Richard and Alice (nee Thompson) Webb, and was raised on the Webb farm in Plainfield. He was a 1964 graduate of Plainfield High School. He retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in Aurora, where he worked as an electrician for 31 years. He was also the former owner of Webb Electric in Joliet.
Above all, Richard was a family man. He was a quiet, sweet, gentle man who liked sitting on their deck and talking with his wife, Jean, and their dog, Rowdy. He loved visiting with all of his kids, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a National Rifle Association member and enjoyed collecting firearms. Most of all, he was our husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed by us all. Sleep in peace, Richard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Georgene "Jean" (nee Nortstrom) Webb; his children, Mary (John) Witt and Richard Webb; and his step children, Dan (Sharon) Mueller and Dana Mueller. Richard was the loving grandfather of eleven, Matt, Kyle, Emily (Jeffrey) Johnson, Jon, Jeremy, Hannah, Bethany, Nathan, Joseph, Nicole and Dillon; and great grandfather of six beautiful children, Aiden, Parker, Norah, Molly, Alice and Owen. Also surviving are his siblings, Terry (Jodie) Webb, Tom (Beverly) Webb and Mary Beth Webb.
