Chris,
The memories that first come to mind are your openness to everyone that came in your orbit. You had an instantaneously gracious way of making people feel comfortable, as if they were a life long friend. It was a quality that so many of us wish we shared. You taught me lessons both professionally and personally that I practice everyday, there are not many people who any of us can say that about. I wish we would've have stayed in touch but it gives comfort knowing you were with your with your loved ones, who you always talked so profoundly about. You will be missed, my friend.

I met Chris serving in the Kairos Prison Ministry in 2009. We served together for about 6 years and over those years he brought joy and fun to that Ministry and to all the men serving in it. He loved to laugh and joke around, but also worked hard to help bring the love and forgiveness of our Lord Jesus Christ into Okeechobee Correctional Institution. I know he helped bring many of those prisoners to know Jesus Christ. Chris followed Jesus's command in Matthew 25 to visit the prisoners. He was a good and faithful servant though that Ministry
Chris and I also went on a mission trip in 2012. We traveled to Costa Rica for 8 days from Feb 4-11 in 2012 with a team of eight. We flew into San Jose then traveled to San Isidro 4 hours south of the capital. We spent one night there and worshiped with the United Methodist church on Sunday. Then we drove another 3 hours south to Changena in the mountains in south central part of the country. Changena is a tiny town up in the mountains that can only be accessed by bus in the dry season. They had only had electricity for about a year when we went there.
We spent 5 days pouring the concrete slab of the new parsonage for the local church. We mixed the concrete on site. We also spent time with the children and families of the town building relationships. The beauty of the countryside is only surpassed by the beauty of the people there. They may be poor in possession but they are rich in love and faith in God. We then spent 1 day sight seeing the rain forests and mountains areas. Finally, we spent the last day traveling back to San Jose for our return to Florida.
Chris was happy and excited every day of the trip. He brought joy and the love of Christ to wherever we went and everyone we met. He worked very hard, but the best gift he brought was his electric smile that brought joy and excitement to every task. He is still talked and asked about whenever we return to Costa Rica.
The church goes on mission trips to help build up communities in need, but mostly we go to experience God through relationship with others. Chris was a huge part of bringing the love and grace of Jesus Christ to that area of Costa Rica!
We spent time together outside of ministry settings as well, and Chris always made me laugh. I know that he is in heaven right now making Jesus laugh with that big toothy grin of his. He will be missed here on earth, but he is in a place were there is no hunger, thirst or pain. Where God will wipe away every tear. Rev 7:15-17.
See you soon my dear friend!
God Bless
Pastor Scott Didriksen

Nothing can ever erase or replace the golden memories I have of Chris and our friends riding our oldschool BMX bikes all around the Cathedral area, playing whatever sport was in season, and clowning around in grade school and as altar and choir boys at Saint Ray's.
Chris, I will always love and remember you and look forward to seeing you on the other side, brother. My deepest condolences to Mr. & Mrs Clinton, Jeff, and family.
Rest in peace, my friend.

Chris will be greatly missed. I always looked forward to catching up with Chris at our Class of '86 reunions. I was glad to have had a chance to talk with him last fall. In high school and as an adult he was very friendly, polite, fun and joyful. My heartfelt condolences to the family and to Nan who was the first person to welcome me to St. Francis and Chris was one of the first Hilltopes I met and was just as kind and welcoming as his mom.
I will be unable to attend Chris's funeral services but I will keep Chris and his family in my thoughts and prayers. May peace and love support Chris's family and close friends. - Kathy Petru Stengele

It was my good fortune to have known Chris in FL. He was without equal in terms of his thoughtfulness, sense of humor and sharing. And yes he could belt out “Sweet Caroline” while holding a pool stick as a microphone before sinking the one ball in the corner pocket. Even if you know what’s coming, you’re never prepared for how it feels. Part of his legacy is the wonderful memories he has left us.

Mr. and Mrs. Clinton,
You have my deepest sympathies on the passing of Chris. He was a great guy and he will be missed. Know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. What a great Family Funeral home to take care of Chris and your needs. They took care of my Dad, after his passing 3 mos. ago, Mar. 15th. My Dad was @ Joliet Hospice and they were so good to him, as well as us. Missy( being a classmate and friend), Jeff, Brian and Fred were wonderful and it was so special to have them take an immediate hands on, since we have known them forever. It's been rough.
May GOD give you the strength to carry on and the time to grieve. It ain't easy, but He will help us all.
Mrs. Clinton, I have fond memories of you from the Academy, which I will treasure forever. I will try to make it, but if not, know you are all in my thoughts. Chris, was too young, but is suffering no more.
With deepest Sympathies,
Sheila Marie Urton

Mrs Clinton,
I was in your child development class years ago and remember you and your class fondly. I enjoyed listening to the stories you told of your boys and the joy in your face as you spoke. I only met Chris recently at the past few reunions. He was very charming positive person. Reading his obituary showed me the caliber of what a wonderful person you and your husband raised. I can't imagine what your family is going through.May God grant you and your family peace and get you through these very difficult days ahead.
Sincerely,
Ana Romero O'Hare

"Grant rest in a place of light, in a place of green pasture, in a place of refreshment, from where pain, sorrow, and sighing have fled away...." Yet it seems so opposite to be praying these prayers for Chris. Deserved is the rest from illness and any struggle of this life. Especially for the Clinton Family, we extend our love & prayers! May his memory be eternal, and Life to all--especially in the generous, caring, and outreaching spirit caught & delivered by Chris—remembered forever!
