At the age of 75 a loving and kind woman passed away suddenly at the Morris Hospital with much of her family by her side due to complications from pneumonia.  No one thought that this would be the day the good Lord called her home, but her devout faith prepared her for this moment. It is in this, that her family takes solace that she is home. She will always be remembered for the way she lived her life; by one simple phrase that she believed, "Pass on the love."

 Barbara was born at home on May 22, 1942 in Lumberville IL. , she attended three high schools Dunlap, Roanoke, and graduated from Chillicothe High School. Barbara furthered her education by attending college classes and received her Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) was a broker and worked  in real estate 18 years for Harper Realty and then Coldwell Banker. She then took a position with Dr. Ann Marie Struck in 2002 and she retired in 2014. She loved the patients that she formed relationships with, the old and the young and missed them a lot after retirement.  She loved to travel, sew and cook. She was a fifty year member of The First United Methodist Church in Morris. She was also very proud and considered herself lucky to have three close friends Lenora Sargent, Gean  McKenny and Falhy Jackson.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years Richard A. Jones in 2000. She was the fourth child to loving parents Howard C. and Stella J (nee Osborne) Bernard and she was preceded by her sisters Helen (nee Bernard) Bedford and Joyce Manning.

She is survived by her loving sons Ethan Jones and Lloyd (Karen) Jones and her beloved daughters Jennifer Jones and Elizabeth (Randy) Miller. Eight grandchildren that were all very special to her, Nicholas Miller, Katelyn Miller, Christian Miller, Noah Miller, Riley Jones, Billy Mensendike, Sean Barnett and Cole Clement all of Morris; one great-grandson Owen Richard Jones; her sister Margaret (Ron) Cox; two brothers Howard C. Bernard and William Bernard; numerous nieces nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Barbara A. Jones will be Saturday July 15, 2017 at 12:15 p.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 1201 West Route 6 at Deerpath Drive, Morris IL. to First United Methodist Church of Morris 118 W. Jackson St., Morris, IL, 60450 for services at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Laura Wilson officiating as it was Barbara’s request cremation rites will be accorded following her funeral services. In lieu of flowers memorials to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital or First United Methodist Church of Morris in her name would be appreciated.
