Frank J. Stapinski
“Whitey”
Age 90, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Presence St. Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in Chicago, following complications arising from pneumonia just one day after his brother, Richard. Born in Joliet, and a lifelong Chicago area resident, he was the son of Joseph and Mary (nee Baldyga) Stapinski. Frank was a proud United States Army veteran of World War II. He was formerly employed at the U. S. Postal Service, the Union League Club, and the Burlington Railroad as a Yard Clerk for many years.
He is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Paul) Coello of Des Plaines, IL; one granddaughter, Jessica; two nephews, Robert (Margie) Brewer of Mokena, IL and Ed (Kathy) Brewer of Joliet; and one niece, Diane (Dave) Jager, of Mokena, IL. Nieces, Nephews and Cousins also survive him.
Preceded by his first wife, Bernice, and his second wife, Lillian; two sons, Tony and Richard Stapinski; one sister, Delores Brewer and one brother, Richard Stapinski (2017) who will be buried with honors with his brother.
Frank will be laid to rest simultaneously alongside his brother, Richard in the Columbaria of Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL on Friday August 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Full military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Army and the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Squad.
