Obituary of Ellen M. Allison

Ellen “Honey” Allison
(nee Kosinski)

Ellen “Honey” Allison passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born March 5, 1952 in Chicago, IL to the late Chester and Helen “Simmy” (nee Simzek) Kosinski.  Honey was an outstanding vocalist/singer who used her talent to inspire and bring joy to many.  She was an avid community theater thespian, appearing in countless local community theater productions since high school.  Every challenge she faced, she’d meet it head on with the saying, “Life is good!” and never turned down a request for help.  Honey spent her career as both a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse and a Home Healthcare Nurse for medically fragile children.  She was dedicated to her patients and provided care above and beyond.  Honey was a Reiki Master, loved playing scrabble and singing to her dogs.  She was a proud dog rescuer to countless stray and abandoned dogs, many of whom were medically challenged.

Honey is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 31 years, Michael Patrick Allison; loving mother of Molly Allison; sister, Mary Kompare; brother-in-law, Gregory Cross; loving aunt to Michael Kompare, Elyse Wojnowski-Anders and Matthew and Mandy Wu; great aunt to Ryan and CJ Kompare and Delaney and Maximus Anders and sister-in-law to Charlotte and Joseph Wojnowski and Mary and Michael Wu.  Many loving, caring and supportive friends also survive.

She was preceded by her parents; brother, Robert “Bobby” Kosinski and niece, Colleen Wojnowski.
