At the age of 71, Sandra Dunnagan passed away at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home following a courageous battle with cancer with her family by her side.

Born in Joliet, and a lifelong Joliet area resident.  She retired from the Will County Clerk’s Office after over 20 years of service.  A long time member and past president of the United Singles Club, Joliet Chapter.  She was a long time volunteer of the FISH organization of Joliet, an organization that her parents were founding members of many years earlier.

Preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Dunnagan (2005); and her parents, Richard and Lois (nee Skoien) Oestry.

Survived by two sons, Mike (Carrie) Dunnagan of Channahon, and Aften B. Dunnagan, Jr. of Joliet; one sister, Barbara (Ronald) Egizio of Plainfield; four grandchildren, Kyle, Madilyn, Allison and A. J. Dunnagan; and her very good friend, Pat Stiltner, who stood by her through thick and thin and was always by her side, whether it was driving her to chemotherapy, sitting with her at the hospice home, or in her early days, going to karaoke.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Sandra A. Dunnagan will be held Monday, August 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, Pastor Loy Schlote officiating.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park II.  Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  For more information, please call (815) 741-5500 or visit her Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
