Jesse Olsen Flyte
Jesse Olsen Flyte passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet at the age of 65. He was born in Sandwich, IL on February 5, 1952, the son of Roland R. and Joan M. (Olsen) Flyte. Jesse was a graduate of Sandwich High School and went on to Regent University in New York where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History. Jesse was a dedicated, hardworking man who worked in the maintenance department as a plumber for the last 37 years at Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, where he met his loving wife, Kathi. Jesse loved Chicago sports and enjoyed traveling with his family. He was a very knowledgeable man who loved to read.
He is preceded by his parents and his brothers, Jackson and Joseph Flyte.
Jesse is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Kathi A. (McDougall) Flyte; his three children, Jason, Joshua and Kelly Flyte; his two grand children, Hailey and Jaden Flyte; his siblings, Barbara (Harold) Schackleford, Judith (Benjamin) Davis, and Jon (Peggy) Flyte; sister-in-law, Lisa Flyte; nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
The family will receive all relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 for a visitation from 2-4 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, IL . As it was his request, cremation rites will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
