Mary A. Lindsay

Mary A. Lindsay of Joliet, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017, at the age of 96, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on September 8, 1920 in London, England to the late Joseph and Ellen (Grant) Bloe.  She is formerly of New York and Rockford, IL.  An athlete in her youth, Mary won medals for track (long jump) and dancing. She was an avid tennis fan, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, knitting, and tending to her garden, but spending time with her family is what brought her the most joy.

She is preceded by her husband of 49 years, Warren D. (1993); her sisters, Florence Hyam and Molly Finch; and her brothers, Joseph Bloe and Harry Bloe.

Mary is survived by her son, Warren J. (Kathleen) Lindsay; her grandson, Warren B. (Melissa) Lindsay; great grandson, Noah Lindsay; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. 

Visitation for Mary A. Lindsay will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, IL followed by a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded.
