Obituary of Anita DeLand

Anita G. DeLand (nee Gonzales) Age 76, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Santa Rosa, TX on December 29, 1932 to the late Manuel and Antonia (Valdez) Gonzales, she had resided in Plainfield the past 34 years. A former Chicago resident. Beloved wife of 40 years to the late Ronald J. DeLand; loving mother of A. Mitchell DeLand and Daryl R. DeLand; dear sister of Manuel V. (Anita) Gonzales, Isaac G. (Joseph) Ayala, Eloisa G. Toler, Raul V. (Gloria) Gonzales, Santos V. Gonzales, and Viola G. (Dave) Kusch. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by her husband, parents and three siblings, Caytano V. (late Sophia) Gonzales, Margarita G. (late Rod) Rodriguez and Henry V. (Josie) Gonzales. Anita was a member of the Seniors Club of St. Mary Immaculate Parish and the Christian Women's Club. A talented singer, an excellent cook and wonderful baker, she will fondly be remembered as a devoted and loving wife and mother. Funeral Services for Anita G. DeLand will be Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery.
