Obituary of Rosella M. Singletary
Rosella M. Kirincich Singletary, (nee McCanna), age 89, a lifelong Joliet, IL resident, passed peacefully, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 9, 1927 she was the daughter of Mary (nee Kochevar) and Joseph McCanna. Rose was a graduate of St. Raymond Grade School and Joliet Township High School, Class of 1946. She retired from the Joliet Police Department after 30 years of service as a record clerk, and the Circuit Clerk's Office in the Will County Courthouse.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Connie (Mike) Gillespie of Jacksonville, FL and Debbie (Jack) Perella of Plainfield, IL; her grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie) Gillespie, John (Stephanie) Perella, Kristen (Brittany) Gillespie, Julie (Chad) Godeaux, and Jason (Andrea) Perella; seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Fran (late James) Gannon; her brother, William (late Kathy) McCanna; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her stepchildren, John (Sandy) Singletary, James (Vicki) Singletary, George (Janice) Singletary, Robert (Carmen) Singletary, Susan Brenner, Mary (Joe) Heenan and Lois (Ludwig) Hutin; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren;
Preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Kirincich (1969); her second husband, John Singletary (2009); her parents; and twin brothers, Leonard (Fran) and Joseph (Marilyn) McCanna.
Funeral services for Rosella Singletary will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 8:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet, to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home would be appreciated.
