Our deepest sympathies to The Arnold Family. We know that he has a special seat at the table with our dear Lord. Pastor Jim changed our lives in so many ways. We learned to have a relationship with Jesus. We learned to trust and love others. He baptized us. He dedicated our children. I pray that he is at peace and no longer suffering. Please Lord help Debbie and the Arnold children with their loss. I pray that our Lord covers them with support and comfort in the days ahead. We are all very lucky to have had him in our lives. He touched us all... And will not be forgotten... Love and prayers. Tom and Connie Armsey and family

Dear Debbie,
My thoughts, love and prayers are with you in the passing of Jimmy. My mind has been reliving the many good times I had with him. We have been friends since the 5th grade (Mrs. Sokol's class) when we started rolling a baseball back and forth on the classroom floor. We shared a paper route, played basketball, baseball or football everyday depending on the season. We rode bikes together and finally cars. I will never forget the privilege of growing up with him. While life takes us in many different directions over the years, I have always thought Jim not just as a dear friend but as a brother I never had.
May grace and peace be yours in abundance during this difficult time.
Larry

Dear Debbie, so very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We loved Jim and you in the lead pastoral position at BTA. Jim had such a heart for God and people, with genuine love and a Servant's heart. He was a kind, passionate, humble leader and man. We are praying that Father God will envelope you in His supernatural peace and comfort, surrounding you with much loving support. We love you and are praying for you and your children. With love, Cindy and Glenna Vanderground

My wife, Heather, was in a session of MOPS at First Assembly when Pastor Jim came in to introduce himself to the MOPS moms. (Pastor Jim had just recently come to First Assembly.) Immediately Heather sensed and was overwhelmed with Pastor Jim's humility. Heather was so excited about Pastor Jim that she called me to tell me about him. (She knows that I highly value humility in leaders.) We started attending shortly thereafter and have been members of First Assembly for over five years now. Our children were baptized at First Assembly.
Pastor Jim again demonstrated his humility by bringing in Pastor Rusty to take his position as Lead Pastor. I told Pastor Jim how much I admired him for that. And how wonderful it worked out for us that Pastor Jim had the humility to listen to God and invite Pastor Rusty to join us. Where would First Assembly be had Pastor Jim not done that?
Pastor Jim was an exceptional person, and he will be dearly missed by many.
