Angelo A. Marchio
Angelo A. Marchio, age 88, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the LaSalle Veteran’s Home. He was born in Carbondale, PA, the son of the late Paul Marchio and Philomena (Marchio) Ventura, residing in Joliet the past 70 years. Angelo is a retired carpenter with Union Local #174. He was the former owner/operator of Marchio’s Tavern in Manhattan and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Survived by his three sons; Anthony of Shorewood, IL, Michael of Homewood, IL, and Stephen (Gayle) Marchio of Shorewood, IL; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Vincent Marchio; one brother, Bruno (the late Carol) Marchio of Joliet, IL; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou (Ron) Erjavec of Shorewood, IL; his nieces and nephews, Paul, David, Lori, Gina, Dean and Sue as well as his devoted companion, Barbara Confer.
He was preceded by his loving wife, Kathryn (nee Hibler) Marchio (1992) and his parents.
Funeral Services for Angelo A. Marchio will be Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to the Church of St. Anthony where Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Enshrinement will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park with full military honors conducted under the auspices of the United States Army. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to LaSalle Veteran’s Home, 1015 O’Conor Ave., LaSalle, IL 61301 would be appreciated.
