Carl P. Weiss, Jr.
Carl P. Weiss, Jr., age 85, of Shorewood, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the home of his daughter in Dwight.
Born August 19, 1932 in Chicago, he was the son of Carl P. and Margaret (nee Weber) Weiss. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and worked as a roofer for United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers, and Allied Workers, Local No. 11, Oak Brook.
Carl was a hard worker and enjoyed fishing, following all sports, and watching war movies and Westerns. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and following all of their sports and activities.
Surviving are his children, Charles P. (Karen) Weiss of Homewood, Sandra M. (Edward) Trinkaus of Shorewood, Barbara A. (Steve) Graefen of Dwight, Bonita L. Weiss of Worth, and Jennifer M. (William) Hall of Monee; 13 grandchildren, Lindsay (Joe) Sherman, Rachel (Kevin) Phipps, Sandra (Kenneth) Gasaway, Edward Trinkaus, Jr., Michael (Chandra) Lynch, Lisa (Chris) Small, Kathleen (Jason) Watchinski, Madilynn Graefen, Stephen Graefen, Peter (Michelle) Behnke, Tracy (Vinnie Roman) Wasinski, Sarah Wasinski, and Billy Hall, Jr.; and 16 great-grandchildren, Gianna Phipps, Julia and Paige Gasaway, Jade, Kyle, Phoenix, and Nathan Lynch, Haley and Jesse Small, Jacob, Matthew and Elizabeth Watchinski, Pierce, Makayla and Mariah Behnke, and Autumn Roman.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joanne M. (Sciuchetti) Weiss; his parents; and one sister, Eleanor Amir.
Visitation for Carl Weiss, Jr., will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, where funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services and interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Evergreen Park, at a later date.
