Gregory M. Januschik

Age 51, of Joliet, IL went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, October 15, 2017.  He was born February 27, 1966 to the late Barbara (nee Nemecek) Was and Nicholas Januschik in Lombard, IL, where he was raised and educated, and was a graduate with the Class of 1984 from Glenbard East High School.

He was the beloved father of Jake; dear brother of Deborah Januschik (deceased), Kimberly Strobel, Nannette (Ralph) Deluca and Nicholas Januschik; fond uncle of Jennifer, Kellie, Jessica, Stephanie and Michael; and the former husband of Robin Pufunt.  He will also be missed by extended family, many friends and his canine companion, T-Bone.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Joseph Was; and sister, Deborah.

Greg will be remembered for his outgoing personality.  He was formerly employed in sales and was a solid Christian who read scripture frequently.  He enjoyed gardening and maintaining his salt water aquarium.  An avid Chicago sports fan, he always looked forward to watching and cheering on the Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks.

He will be deeply missed. We take comfort, however, in knowing he is in the arms of Jesus, and has been reunited with his beloved mother and sister, along with other loved ones.

All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Parkview Christian Church, 11100 Orland Parkway (Eastside Chapel), Orland Park, IL from 10:00 a.m. until a Memorial Service begins at 11:00 a.m.  As it was Greg's wish, cremation rites have been accorded.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  For more information, please call (815) 741-5500 or visit his Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
