Dominic M. Paone
Age 66, lifelong Joliet resident passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017.
He is survived by his proud sons; Michael J. (Carleen) Paone and Brian M. (Kristan) Paone; his beloved grandsons, Brandon, Alexander, Vincent, and Matthew; his sisters, Donna J. Crossen and Diane (Robert) Remley; nephew and godson, William A. Crossen; former spouse, Linda Paone and numerous cousins.
Dominic was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic T. and Dorothy A. (nee Pappas) Paone.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Lewis University in 1973 and was a graduate from the University of Wisconsin, School of Bank Administration Executive Program. Dominic was a member of the Institute of Management Accountants. He was a 1969 graduate of Joliet Catholic High School and a St. Joseph Grade school graduate in 1965.
He enjoyed a long career in banking as a Vice President for First Midwest Bank, First National Bank of Joliet, and BMO Harris Bank, all in downtown Joliet.
As an avid sports fan, Dominic enjoyed attending games and following his beloved Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Notre Dame football teams. One of his passions was to watch his sons and grandsons participate in sports. He never missed a game.
He loved to travel, attending numerous college football bowl games, Disneyland and Disney World, and baseball tournaments watching his boys. Dom also looked forward to the annual family trip to Las Vegas.
Dominic passed away comfortably and is now cancer free after three years. Our family is grateful for the love and prayers we have received throughout this difficult time. We would also like to thank his personal physicians and the entire staff at Presence Saint Joseph Cancer Center for their excellent care and support.
Funeral Services for Dominic M. Paone will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 at 10:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. William Bucciferro officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
