Obituary of Daniel Joseph Kohl
Daniel Joseph Kohl, age 71, at rest November 9, 2017. Daniel was born on October 23, 1946 to the late Virgil and Nora (nee McConologue) Kohl. He proudly served his county in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1964 to 1968 in the Vietnam War and received four service medals including a Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Will County Carpenter’s Union, Local #174 and worked as a carpet installer. Daniel enjoyed Motown music, playing pool and throwing back a few cheap beers. But mostly he enjoyed his time with family and friends.
He is survived by his three children, Rhonda (Brian) Arnold, Danielle Kohl, and Aditra (Andy) Albright; five grandchildren, Tyler (Torie) Arnold, Lola Gregory, Adaline Albright, Asher Albright and Amelia Albright; great granddaughter, Gracie Arnold; six siblings, Mary “Tootsie” (Jim) Bell, Raymond Kohl, Ronald (Jane) Kohl, Maureen (Jeff) Kohl-Mahoney, Keith Kohl and Kathleen Kohl; many nieces and nephews and former wife of thirty years, Constance Kohl also survive.
He was preceded by his parents.
A memorial service for Daniel Joseph Kohl will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Road, Joliet, IL. Inurnment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Marine Corps and the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad. As it was his request, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial gathering will be held Thursday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to LaSalle Veteran’s Home would be appreciated.
