Obituary of Mildred Barone

Mildred Barone, (nee Morelli), age 92, of Shorewood, and formerly of Argo, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at Senior Star at Weber Place, Romeoville. 

She was born January 26, 1925 in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of the late Oreste and Carmela (nee Abbate) Morelli.  Millie was a woman of faith, and was very active in the lives of her children serving with the St. Blase Mother’s Club, Cub Scouts and many other activities.  She was a great cook, loved to entertain her family and friends, and will be remembered for her cookies and cheesecakes.   

She was the loving mother of Joseph (Vivianne) Barone, Thomas (Lucienne) Barone, and Bernadette Barone; devoted grandmother to Jennifer (Michael) Neubauer and Brian Barone; dear great-grandmother to Peter and Natalie Neubauer; beloved sister to Terese (the late Richard) Bolduc and Louise (Jack) White; and fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Anthony J. Barone (August 14, 2009); her parents; and seven brothers and sisters.             

Funeral Services for Mildred Barone will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Ave., Shorewood, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Plainfield.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  For more information, please call (815) 741-5500 or visit her Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
