Nancy Viola House
(nee Strauch)
Age 67, of Shorewood, and formerly of Chicago, Darien and Frankfort, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home surrounded by the love of her family. Nancy was born in Chicago on September 13, 1950, the daughter of the late William and Shirley (nee Elliott) Strauch. She was a member of the Joliet Ski Club and always enjoyed a good day out on the slopes. Nancy loved spending time at the cabin in Watersmeet, MI where she could be found on the golf course playing with mixed couples; if she wasn’t at the golf course, she was Lew’s apprentice working on the cabin. She retired from Federal Signal Corp. in 2012.
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, Lewis “Lew” House; loving mother of Richard (Debbie) Satler of Orland Park, IL and Sandra Satler of Naperville, IL; proud grammy of Danielle Satler and Caitlin Satler both of Orland Park, IL and Jaden Anderson of Naperville, IL; loving aunt of Rob (Iris) Strauch, Kari, Kelly, and Kim Seroka, Keith and Kevin House, and Erik and Taylor House: and dear sister-in-law of Linda (Dave) Seroka, Dennis (Lori) House and Davey (Tami) House.
She was preceded by her parents and her brother, Robert Strauch.
Funeral services for Nancy Viola House will he held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
