Marilyn E. Farmer
(nee Perzee)
Age 70, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at home, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was born in Watseka, IL, the daughter of the late Melvin and Marjorie (nee Korte) Perzee and has resided in Joliet since 1988. She is a graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1965, and received an Honorary Degree from Joliet Junior College in 1994. Marilyn was Executive Director of The Morning Star Mission of Joliet for the past 20 years and was a member of the Joliet Rotary Club. She enjoyed spending winters at her Florida home, spending time with her grandchildren at the lake house and was fond of swimming, boating and jet skiing.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, David H. Farmer, Sr. of Joliet; two children, David Farmer, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ and Deborah (Arthur) Stambaugh of Bradenton, FL; her five grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) DiMonte of Coal City, Caleb Stevenson of Elgin, John Murphy of Joliet, Joseph Murphy of Joliet and David Micetich of Joliet; four siblings, Tom Perzee of North Webster, IN, John (Janet) Perzee of Cedar Lake, IN, Sandra Perzee of Joliet, and Raymond (Maryann) Perzee of Sierra Vista, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded by two children, John C. Farmer (1998) and Theresa A. Farmer (2013); her granddaughter, Marilyn M. DiMonte (2016); her parents; and one brother, Melvin Perzee.
Funeral services for Marilyn E. Farmer will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment will follow at Providence Ridge Cemetery, Elwood. Memorials in her name to Morning Star Mission would be greatly appreciated. Visitation will be Monday, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
