Theresa J. Zielinski

Age 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet. She was born in LaSalle, IL, on September 15, 1926 and was a graduate of LaSalle/Peru High School, Class of 1944. On June 19, 1948 she married the love of her life, the late David D. Zielinski, and together they raised four children. She was formerly employed by Westclox Co., Peru, IL, for six years until moving to Joliet in 1952. Theresa was a longtime parishioner of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and a volunteer at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center (Auxiliary). She bowled with the St. Paul's Bowling League for several years, was an avid golfer, a member of the Wednesday Swingers Golf League for many years and a member of the Ladies of the Elks League.
Theresa is survived by her devoted and loving children, Gary (Jean) Zielinski of Joliet, Diane (the late Robert) Earley of Minooka, and Dawn (Greg) Bujalski of Geneva; seven grandchildren, David Earley, Michael (Cortney) Earley, Gail (Chris) Weber, Jason Zielinski, and Rachel, Jenna and Dana Bujalski; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Madalynn Earley; one sister, Clara Menne of Charlotte, NC; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She was preceded by her beloved husband, David D. Zielinski (2014); her son, Jay Zielinski (2016); two granddaughters, Laura and Marie Zielinski; her parents, Casimir and Mary Ann (nee Pyrz) Zuchora; one brother, Floyd Zuchora; six sisters, Jospehine Brucki, Pearl Dauck, Mary Szymski, Helen Wagner, Emily Turczyn and Irene Muilenburg; and several brothers-in-law.
Funeral services for Theresa J. Zielinski will be Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 12:15 p.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 710 W. Marion Street, Joliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Private Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
