Gerald Edward Fairbairn
Age 74, went to Heaven on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, to be with his cherished daughter, Dawn. He was born on August 8, 1943 in Joliet, the son of the late Edward and Linnea (nee Holmquist) Fairbairn. Gerald proudly served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army. He was previously employed at Sub Dock for many years.
Gerald is survived by his three grandchildren, Brittany (Devin) Craig and Damon Fairbairn both of Paris and Angelica Fairbairn of Joliet; three great grandchildren, William, Wyatt and Wesley; loving and devoted sister, Judy (the late Howard) Fleming; and two brothers, Eugene Fairbairn and Theodore (Sharon) Fairbairn both of Joliet.
He was preceded by his daughter, Dawn Fairbairn and his parents.
Visitation for Gerald Edward Fairbairn will he held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery where full Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.
