William D. Gonnam

William D. Gonnam passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home at the age of 69.  He was born in Morris, IL to the late Jesse and Gwen (nee Walker) Gonnam.  William resided in Verona most of his life where he continued working the family farm with his dad and his brother Jim.  He was a graduate of Mazon Verona Kinsman High School Class of 1968 where he was voted “The Class Go Getter.” William attended the University of Illinois, Champaign and received his Associate’s Degree from Joliet Junior College. He retired from the Braidwood Nuclear Power Plant in 2008 following 23 years of service. Bill enjoyed restoring antique tractors and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Gabel; his three children, Katherine Bonomo of Morris, Jessica (Robert) Jacobus of Boise, Idaho and Laura Gonnam of Plainfield; six grandchildren, Nicholas and Grace Bonomo, Olivia Bivens, Austin Shade, Blaine Larson and Cash Jacobus; his brother, Jim (Debbie) Gonnam of Verona; his sister, Beverly Anne (Steve) Thomason of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his nephew, Jeff Gonnam (1998).

Memorial Services for William D. Gonnam will be Thursday December 28, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 West Route 6 at Deerpath Drive, Morris IL. 60450.  Family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00 p.m. until time of service.
