Obituary of Russell Dillon

Russell R. Dillon Age 85. Died Friday, July 13, 2007 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Born October 29, 1921 in Mokena to the late Raymond and Catherine (nee Lamphere) Dillon, he was a lifetime Joliet area resident. A U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving 3 years in the Philippines. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. after many years of service. Russell enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Genevieve, nee Ruddy (July 13, 2006); and his parents. Survived by six children, Patrick of Joliet, Raymond (Ruth) of Goose Lake, Charles (Margaret) of LaGrange, Phillip of Joliet, Mary Kay (Todd) Drumheller of Princeton, IL. and Jean (Michael) O'Donnell of Channahon. Loving grandfather to 19 and great-grandfather to seven. Also survived by one sister, Jean (late Jack) Meers and family. Funeral services for Russell R. Dillon will be Monday, July 16, 2007, 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
