Richard R. Wegner, Sr.

Age 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Rosewood Care Center, Joliet.  He spent his professional career as a Millwright, retiring from Reynolds Aluminum/McCook Metals.  Richard was an avid woodworker and enjoyed the outdoors.

Survived by two sons, Richard R. (Ragina) Wegner II of Watertown, WI and John (Molly) Wegner of Joliet; four grandchildren, Richard R. III (Ashley), Nathaniel (fiancé Katherine), Tristan and Charlotte Wegner; and one sister, Sharon (Willard) Heflin.

He was preceded by his wife, Karen J. Wegner (2014); parents, Edmund and Florence (nee  Korzeniewski) Wegner; and one brother, Robert Wegner.

Funeral Services for Richard R. Wegner, Sr. will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.  Interment will be held privately at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.  Visitation will be Friday, from 4:00 p.m. until time of service.
