We met Marie almost 27 years ago when she invited us to their home so that we could all become acquainted before Janet and Dan married. That thoughtful gesture planted the seeds of our growing friendship. She wanted to learn about our family and tell about hers. She always inquired about everyone by name after that. Another special memory was Marie and John's visit to our Nags Head cottage, planned to be a week but cut short by hurricane warnings. Yes, we got in a card game before Al's early AM call upstairs to say maybe we had best think of leaving. In a flash they and their luggage were downstairs. I think the ocean sounds hadn't allowed for much sleep. We were so impressed with what good sports they were. They were always fun to have lunch with whenever we were in Chicago. Most recently we had a nice visit in her new home and then lunch at a nearby restaurant. We feel so fortunate to have known Marie who lives on in our daughter-in-law, Janet and Bernie and Joan.

Marie was very kind and helpful when my Mother was a resident at Senior Star. She would check on her often and showed so much compassion and generosity. I was out-of-state so my visits to mom were not often. Marie would keep me up to date on my mom and I so appreciated knowing she was being watched over. She has a special place in our families hearts. May she Rest In Peace.

We are sorry to hear of this wonderful woman’s passing. She was a great example to us of human kindness. One of the best memories was when we got to spend time with Aunt Marie and Uncle John in Texas. Truly wanting to get to know our children better. Playing games and just spending time talking. We always enjoyed getting cards hearing about their travels. Last year she told us she wanted to go to Cayman with us while Grace is there. Wishing we still had that opportunity. She will be missed.
Our sympathy to the Reddy family.
With Love
Jim & Cindy Conway and family (Texas)

Marie was my Godmother when I was born on August 3, 1942. Had many good visits and laughs over the years. When I married my second wife, after my first wife died of cancer, Marie and John threw a dinner party in their home with a few relatives so they could meet. In later years some of the cousins would get together and have lunch just to catch up. She will be missed and the family has my sincere sympathy.

What a lovely lady your mother was, Joan. She seemed to always have a twinkle in her eyes when I had the opportunity to visit with her. I continue to remember our conversations about boxes and their utility—especially those with handholds! M. Heath
