Obituary of Larry Denton York

Larry Denton York, age 69, of Addison, passed away peacefully, Monday, January 22, 2018 at Edward Hines, Jr. Veterans Administration Hospital in Maywood.

Born December 6, 1948 in Chattanooga, TN, he was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Larry worked as a truck driver and mover for several  moving companies.  He loved to fish, being with his family, and enjoyed spending time at the VFW Post.

Surviving are his four children, Lisa (Dave) Pawlus of Marion, IA, Michelle (Mark) Finley of Plainfield, Larry York, Jr. of Addison, and Jason York of Bensenville; seven grandchildren, Hannah and Sarah Pawlus, Marissa, Madeline and Emily Finley, Alex York, and Aria Marie Rosario-York; one brother, Lawrence York; one sister, Sharon Morgan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen McDonough; and his parents, Lawrence and Mae Bell (Holland) York.

Funeral services for Larry D. York will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet.  Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad and the United States Marine Corps.  Visitation will be held Thursday, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  For more information, please call (815) 741-5500 or visit his Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
