Virgil Wayne Adkins, Sr.,
Virgil Wayne Adkins, Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at his home in Mokena, IL surrounded by his loving family. Virgil was born in West Frankfort, IL to the union of Bertha (nee Taylor) and Charles F. Adkins. After a long illness, his courage and strong heart will always be remembered. Our hearts are broken and our tears endless, but our memories and joys are immeasurable. His laughter and smile will never leave us.
Virgil is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth (nee Galayda) Adkins; his four loving children, Wayne Adkins, Janice (Mark) Wrobel, Cathy (Dave) House and Jerry Adkins; his four grandchildren, Kelly (Steve) Zack, Andy Wrobel, Jeff and Mike House; his five great grandchildren, Madelyn, Charlotte and Alex Zack, Andi Rae and Lacey Wrobel; one brother, Jim (Kay) Adkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his parents; three brothers; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
