Age 48, of Baytown, TX, and formerly Joliet, IL, died tragically on Sunday, February 4, 2018, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  She was born December 29, 1969, to Joseph and the late Patricia (nee Cherviron) Murphy, in Joliet, where she was raised and educated.  Debra was a graduate of Joliet Central High School.  Employed as a student bus driver for over 22 years, primarily in Joliet, she spent the past two years providing transportation to students in the Goose Creek District of Baytown, TX.

Debra is survived by her husband, Kevin; sons and daughters, Kevin II, Kaitlin (Dustin) Pitts, Joseph and Jessica; grandson, Kairen Pitts; her father, Joseph Murphy; two brothers, David and Daniel Murphy; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia and her grandparents.

A prayer service for Debra Marie Gurnitz will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C.
