“Ken”
Age 78, of Minooka, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at his home. Ken was born in Joliet, the son of the late Jess and Edna (nee Knupp) Van Meter. He was a Will County resident all of his life. A retired Redimix Concrete truck driver, he was a proud member of the Teamsters Union #179. Ken was a lifelong member of the American Motorcycle Association where he thoroughly enjoyed racing.
Surviving are his five children, Kenneth W. Van Meter, Jr. of Crest Hill, LeAnne (John) Cox of Lockport, Karl (Lisa) Van Meter of Joliet, and twin daughters, Peggy (Patrick) Boris of Plainfield and Pamela (Robert) Jones of Joliet; ten grandchildren; one great grandson; two sisters, Isabell (Gene) Irvin of Missouri and Barbara (Joseph) Wolf of Sugar Grove, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
