Obituary of Lou E. Gamboa
Lou E. Gamboa, age 75, of Joliet, passed away on Wednesday February 14, 2018 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. He was born in Chicago, the son of the late Emanuel and Anne (Luther) Gamboa. Formerly of Burbank and Homer Glen, IL. Lou spent 13 years in Twin Lakes, CO and has been living in Joliet for the past three years. He was a graduate of Reavis High School, Burbank, IL, Class of 1960. Lou retired from Ameritech in 1995 following over 30 years of service. Lou was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and country dancer. He also had a strong political ethic.
Lou is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Rita (Wisniewski) Gamboa of Joliet; his two daughters, Susan (the late John) Goeres of MO and Jennifer (Rick) Varnold of Lockport; proud grandfather of, Alex, Luke, Elisabeth and John Phillip “J.P.” Goeres, and Emily and Ashley DeBlecourt; and two brothers, Jan and Kevin and his sister-in-law, Sandy Wisniewski of New Lenox.
He is preceded by his stepmother, Eileen Gamboa.
Funeral Services for Lou E. Gamboa will be Monday, February 19, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL to Holy Family Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Enshrinement will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to American Heart Association would be appreciated.
