Obituary of Norma Jean Barrow

Norma Jean Barrow, (nee Pearson), age 53, of Seneca since 2005, and formerly of Joliet and Channahon, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her devoted family, on Friday, February 23, 2018 at her son’s home in Seneca.

Born August 26, 1964 in Joliet, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Juanita (Hardy) Pearson, Sr.  She attended Joliet Junior College and worked for 15 years for Manheim Arena Auto Auction in Bolingbrook.

Norma enjoyed reading, and playing Bingo and video slot machines.  She will be remembered by her family for being a great mother and grandmother, and for being a brave fighter during her battle with lung cancer the past several years.

She was the loving mother of Michael Barrow, Edith Gallardo, Richard “Jay” Barrow, Jr., and Adam Barrow; sweet grandmother of Sofia and Malachi Gallardo, Tristan Nelson, and Alyah and Maddie Barrow; beloved sister to Ernest (Sherry) Pearson, Sr., and the late Lester “Bucky” Pearson, Jr.; and fond aunt to Ernest Pearson, Jr., Joshua Pearson, and Amanda Pearson.  She is also survived by her former husband, Richard Barrow, Sr.

A Memorial Gathering for Norma Barrow will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church United, 24466 W. Eames Street, Channahon, IL 60410.  A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.  Cremation rites have been accorded and interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.  Fred C.
