Obituary of Cheryl Dolan

Cheryl K. Dolan "Cheri" Cheryl K. "Cheri" Dolan, age 66, of Morris, passed away peacefully Friday, April 13, 2012 at home following a 20 year battle with cancer. Born April 27, 1945 in Streator, IL, Cheryl was the daughter of J. Melvin and Rosella R. Kanne. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Morris. She graduated from MVK High School in Mazon in 1963, and attended Marycrest College, Davenport, IA. Following college, she was employed by Black and Black, Attorneys of Morris. She was also employed for 32 years at Willareth Clinic, Morris, retiring in December 2006. On June 5, 1965, she married Thomas M. Dolan at St. Patrick's Church, Dwight. He survives along with two sons, Troy Michael and Todd Mathew, both of Morris, and one granddaughter, Meghan Elizabeth Dolan of Naperville. Cheryl is also survived by her mother, Rosella Kanne; sister, Patricia (Ray) Dennison; and brother, Jack (Dianne) Kanne, all of Morton. Other survivors include her mother-in-law, LaVelle Dolan; sister-in-law, Peggy (Dennis) Finch of Verona; 13 nieces and nephews; 26 great nieces and nephews; and her best friend for many years, Rose Livingston of Coal City, who stood by her for her entire 20 year battle with cancer. Preceding her in death was Cheryl's father, J. Melvin Kanne in 1979, and her father-in-law, Charles Raymond Dolan in 1976. Cheryl loved decorating, design, baking, and working in her year with her flowers. She also loved spending time with friends and family, and special time with her granddaughter who was the joy of her life. Family will receive friends at Immaculate Conception Church, Morris, on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Morris.
