Obituary of Jack Dolan
Jack K. Dolan
Age 86, a long time Joliet resident, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Jack served in Burma during WWII, in the Army Air Force as a prop specialist. He was a member of the Cement Masons Local 11-161 for 55 years. Member of the Croatian Cultural Club, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge and the American Legion.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann V. Dolan (Sept. 2000); brother, Gene Dolan; three sisters, Edna Heinemeyer, Phyllis Dolan and Augusta Dolan.
Survived by one son, John (Ann) Dolan of Findlay, IL; two daughters, Donna (Ted) Bostrom of Crest Hill and Sandra (Richard) Kapinus of Diamond, IL: five grandchildren, Sara (George) Kiddy, Elisa Dolan, Michelle Bostrom, Michael Bostrom, and Christina Kapinus; two great-grandchildren, Nichole and Adysen Kiddy; his wife, Bernadine Boris; and two stepdaughters, Sharon Fonck and Amy Gorecki.
Jack will fondly be remembered for his infectious smile and his tremendous dancing skills. He enjoyed the annual fishing trips in Canada and was an avid gardener and exceptional cook. One of his proudest achievements was receiving his private pilots license from Lewis University.
Funeral Services for Jack K. Dolan will be Friday, October 30, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Ambrose Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the American Heart Association would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday 4-8 p.m. at:
