Obituary of Shirley A. Drennen

Shirley A. “Coe” Drennen
(nee Stevenson)

Age 86, of Joliet, IL, and formerly Chicago Heights, IL, passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2018.  She was born on June 25, 1931, to the late Robert and Grace (nee Wagner) Stevenson, in Dayton, OH.  Raised in Springfield, OH, Coe was a graduate of Springfield High School.

Loving wife of the late James E. Drennen (2006); beloved mother of James (Kimberly) Drennen, the late Steve (Marilyn) Drennen and Cheryl Cramer (Rick Bubula); devoted grandmother of Julie and Angie Drennen, Megan (Joe) Reband, Ryan (Jackie) Drennen, Chad (Laila) Cramer and Jana (Jason) Miller; and proud great-grandmother of Joshua and Angelina, James, Blake, Andrew and Macy.  Also surviving are her brother, Robert Eugene (Barbara) Stevenson, and many nieces and nephews.

Coe’s front porch at her Joliet home was the neighborhood “meeting place” where competitive games of cards and dominoes would often end in spirited debates.

Laughter and love were staples at Grandma Coe’s house.  She will always be in our hearts.
