Donald Miles Koskiewicz
Donald Miles Koskiewicz, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at home surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Chicago, he was the son of the late Miles and Ann (nee Koepke) Koskiewicz, residing in Joliet the past 20 years. Donald graduated from Austin High School, received his Associates Degree from Wright Junior College and was a proud Korean War U.S. Air Force Veteran. Retired from Nixdorf Computer in 1993, Donald is a member of St. John Lutheran Church and also attended Christus Victor Lutheran Church, Elk Grove Village. An active volunteer at Daybreak Shelter and Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, Don also participated in the Big Brother Organization in Joliet.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara (nee Hearl) Koskiewicz of Joliet; two children, Ann Koskiewicz of Darien and John (Jenni) Koskiewicz of Lafayette, CO; four grandchildren, John and Mark Wallner and Nina and Sam Koskiewicz; and his sister, Doris Thomas of Moline, IL. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
He was preceded by his parents.
Funeral Services for Donald Miles Koskiewicz will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church, 2650 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, until time of Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be held at a later date. Memorials in his name to St. John Lutheran Church or Christus Victor Lutheran Church would be appreciated. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C.
