Obituary of George W. Dirscherl
George W. Dirscherl, age 78, of Shorewood, IL and formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018, at his late residence. Born in Chicago, he was the son of the late George and Anna (nee Szczesny) Dirscherl, and has resided in Shorewood since 2004. George received his Bachelor’s Degree from the Aeronautical Institute and enjoyed a rewarding career with Caterpillar, Inc. retiring in 2003. He loved to travel and in his younger days enjoyed fishing.
George is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cynthia Dirscherl of Shorewood and his two sons, Nick and Nathan Dirscherl both of Chicago.
He was preceded by his parents and a brother and sister in infancy.
Funeral Services for George W. Dirscherl will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018, at 9:15 a.m., from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Ave., Shorewood, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL.
