Obituary of Nevio C. Gardasanic, Sr.
Nevio G. Gardasanic, Sr.
Nevio G. Gardasanic, Sr., age 76, of Shorewood, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. He was born in Fiume, Italy, the son of the late Pietro and Anna (nee Hibler) Gardassanich. Nevio emigrated to the United States in 1964, formerly of Oak Lawn, IL, and made his home in Shorewood for the past 20 years. He was a member of the Lockport Tennis Club, and loved cycling and walking, but tennis was his passion.
Survived by his loving wife of 50 ½ years, Connie (nee Wieland) Gardasanic of Shorewood; his son, Nevio G. Gardasanic Jr. of Shorewood; grandson, Matthew Gardasanic of Willowbrook; sister, Anita Sartori of Germany; niece, Gloria (Othman) Saadi; nephews, Gary (Helen) Gard and Gino (Jennifer) Gard; and great-nephews, Danny Gard, Glenn Gard and Gino Gard.
Preceded by his sister, Sonja Thoman; brother, Gino (Anna) Gard; nephew, Gino Gard.
Visitation for Nevio G. Gardasanic, Sr. will be Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 9:00 until 9:30 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Ave., Shorewood, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Enshrinement will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
