Charles A. Macier
“Chuck”

Charles A. Macier, of Plainfield, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.  Born in Joliet, the son of the late Charles and Mary Catherine (nee Holehan) Macier, he was a lifelong area resident.  Chuck was a proud graduate of Joliet Catholic High School, Class of 1964.  He retired from the Plainfield School District in 2012 and was previously in sales with General Electric Supply for many years.  Chuck loved golfing with his Monday group as well as fishing, especially in Sanibell Island, FL.

Surviving is his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Anne (nee Hedstrom) Macier of Plainfield; his daughter, Allison Macier; his son, Alex (Kimberly) Macier; his grandson, Brecken Macier and a grandson on the way; four sisters, Mary Lou (Les) Gomora, Laurie (Ed) Garland, Rita Bradley and Jody (the late Doug) Randolph; and his brother, James (fiancé Stephanie) Macier.  Several nieces, nephews and many loving friends including, Mary K. (the late Gary) Cardwell, Bob and Jane Hickok and Dave and Sylvia Efner also survive.

He was preceded by his parents and in laws, Louis and Mary Kate Hedstrom.

A Memorial Mass for Charles A. Macier will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home Chapel, 1201 Wyoming Ave., Joliet.  A reception for family and friends will be held following mass at 150 West, 1050 NE Frontage Rd., Joliet, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Fred C.
