George J. Drakos
Age 60. Suddenly, Saturday, August 16, 2008 at St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields as the result of an apparent heart attack. Born in Andros, Greece, and a longtime Joliet/Frankfort resident. Owner and operator of the Frankfort Auto Clinic. A member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church and the AHEPA Society.Former member of the Joliet Noon Lions Club.
Preceded by his father, John Drakos (1988); his father-in-law, Chris Zouganelis; his surrogate mother-in-law, Kalliope Antoninis; and two uncles, Ted and Jim Zouganelis.
Survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary K. (nee Zouganelis) Drakos; his loving daughter, Kalliope (David) Dawley; "special son" Agustin (Laura) Cuevas; four grandchildren, George, Maria, Esmeralda and Nayeli, all of Frankfort. "Special father and grandfather " to Johna (Richard) Riley and family of Plainfield. His mother, Maria Drakos; three brothers, Louie, Niko and Tony; one sister, Flora, all of Andros, Greece; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends also survive.
Funeral services for George J. Drakos will be Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church for services at 9:30 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church Endowment Fund in his name would be appreciated. Visitation Tuesday, 3-9 p.m. with Trisagion services at 7:30 p.m. at:
