Joseph M. Malfitano
Age 86, of Shorewood, previously of Elmhurst and Bartlett, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at his late residence. Born December 28, 1931, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph and Cecilia (nee Fitzpatrick) Malfitano. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, and the occasional visit to the casinos.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Shirley A. (nee Haines) Malfitano; three children, Shireen (Gary) Tyberg, Charles “Bud” (Irene) Malfitano and Linda (Darrell) Habel; six grandchildren, Katie (Greg) Less, Mark (Ashlee) Tyberg, April Malfitano, D.J. (Veronica) Malfitano, Rebecca Habel and Daniel Habel; six great grandchildren; and one sister, Patricia Humphreys of Canada.
He was preceded by his parents and one sister, Marjorie Invergo.
A Memorial Gathering for Joseph Malfitano will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until time of closing prayers at 7:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. As it was Joseph’s request, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the family would be appreciated.
