John C. Kurbis
“Butch”
Age 74, passed away suddenly, at home, on Thursday, August 9, 2018. A loving father and an honorable man, he will be forever missed. A Union Operator with Local #150, Butch retired in 2006 after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, gardening, watching golf and playing the lottery.
John is survived by his loving children, Brandi (James) Henderson of Morris, Candi Kurbis of Elwood and Andrew (Charity) Kurbis of Minooka and his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Marie (nee Johnson) Kurbis; his daughter, Darci A. Kurbis (2008); sister, Roberta Voss; brother, Harold Kurbis; and longtime family friends, Curt (Char) Christenson.
Visitation for John Kurbis will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park II.
