Obituary of James Dale Oostdyk
James Dale Oostdyk, age 69, of Joliet, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
He was born in Sheboygan, WI, educated in Downers Grove, IL, a resident of Evening Shade, AR for 30 years, and has resided in Joliet the past five months. A proud Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, James was a retired paramedic and firefighter. He was a former Sunday school teacher and did some security work. James loved carpentry, and was an accomplished wood worker. He loved his canine companion, Star.
James is survived by his daughters, April (J.P.) Brown of Yorkville, IL and Wendy (Andy) Nadeu of Lisle, IL; grandchildren, Brandon, Valerie, Victoria and Dean Brown, Dominique and Cameron Nadeu; his two sisters, Lori (Roger) Duff of Collinsville, IL and Susan (George) Hervas of Bolingbrook, IL; and two brothers, Larry (Carol) Oostdyk of Mechanicville, IL and Roger Oostdyk of Glendale, AZ. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services and Interment for James Dale Oostdyk will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force. Arrangements entrusted to the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home.
