Obituary of Raymond J. Dobson

Raymond J. Dobson, “Uncle Ray”, age 74, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the home of his niece and caregiver, Autumn (Juan) Diaz.

He was born in Evergreen Park, IL. on April 20, 1944 to Raymond and Mary (nee Screen) Dobson.  Ray enjoyed Ballroom dancing in his younger days, and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan, but found his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. Uncle Ray will be truly missed.

Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  He attended Community Christian Church in Plainfield.

Ray is survived his three brothers, Jack (Sulley), Thomas (Elizabeth), and Larry (Terri) Dobson; and one sister, Mary Simon.  Numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and his beloved canine, Mariah, also survive.

Preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Dobson; and sister-in-law, Debra Dobson.

The family would like to thank Silver Cross Home Health Care, especially Sherry Craig, and the Joliet Area Community Hospice and Jennifer and Tamika for their care given to Uncle Ray.

Funeral Services for Raymond J. “Uncle Ray” Dobson will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 12:00 NOON, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet.  Pastor John Ciesniewski from Community Christian Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park II where full military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Air Force.  Visitation will begin Thursday morning, from 10:00 a.m. until the services begin at 12:00 NOON at the funeral home.
