Obituary of Dean A. Thompson

Dean A. Thompson, age 79, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.  

He was born on January 12, 1939 in Morris, Illinois to the late Walter and Elsie (nee Phillips) Thompson.  Dean retired in 1997, as a Salesman for Grohr RV.  He enjoyed being out on the golf course and cooking a good meal.  

Dean is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Phyllis J. (nee Goran); one son, Michael (Deborah); two grandchildren, Jennifer (Glen) Lynch and Christopher (fiancée Brooke Barajas); and one great-grandson, Brody James Lynch.  He is also survived by his best friend, Ron Sanders.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Jean Ann Thompson.  

Funeral Services for Dean A. Thompson will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018, at 9:15 a.m., from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, 706 N. Broadway, Joliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  As it was his request, cremation rites will follow the services.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
