“The Guz”
Michael W. Guzman, age 57 of Joliet, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, September 10, 2018.
Born April 16, 1961 in Joliet, he was a graduate of Joliet East High School, Class of 1979 – “Oh Hail the Kingsmen!” Mike worked in the quality control department for A. J. Oster Midwest, Carol Stream, for nearly 30 years.
Mike was a loving and devoted son, brother and uncle. He will forever remain in the hearts and minds of his beloved family and too many good friends to count. He loved music, concert-going and followed all Chicago sports teams and was the world’s most outstanding Blackhawks fan. Celebrating all wins, losses and life in general at Paddy’s in Crest Hill made life sweeter.
Surviving are his mother, Alicia (nee Granados) Guzman of Joliet; two sisters, Laura Guzman and Elizabeth Guzman; and one brother, Mark Guzman, all of Joliet. Also surviving are two nephews and a niece, Emmanuel, Marisol and Nicholas Flores; his dearest Italian family, the Talarico Family of Joliet; and many extended family members in Mexico City, Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his unforgettable father, Miguel "The Boss" S. Guzman (2005) and his also unforgettable sister, Mari Guzman Flores (2012).
Funeral services for Michael Guzman will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
