Obituary of Helen Louise Barto

Helen Louise Barto passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Silver Cross Hospital, at the age of 82.  Helen was born on July 1, 1936, to the union of Arthur and Rose (nee Flanich) Weese.  She grew up in Joliet and was a graduate of Joliet Central High School. Helen retired from Lewis University as a Deli Clerk, after over 15 years of dedicated service.

Helen enjoyed being a long time member of South Wilmington Sportsman Club with her husband, Robert.  They loved camping and fishing together.  She loved nature and everything about it; she would always be outdoors in her garden or filling her bird feeders.   In her free time she also enjoyed painting and crafting.  She was a devoted wife and loving mother who will be missed by all who knew her.    

Helen is survived by her three children, Patricia Seida, Cynthia (Eugene) Martin and George Barto; four grandchildren, Lisa (Tim) Singer, Aaron Martin USAF, Heather (Curtis) Cwudzinski and Kyle Martin; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Kennedy, Emma Singer and Carson Cwudzinski; and her siblings, Artis Liccardi, Rosie Schure, and Art (Susan) Weese.  Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded by her husband of 60 years, Robert George Barto; her son, Robert Lawrence; her parents; and her son-in-law, Joe Seida.

Visitation for Helen Louise Barto will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at12:00 p.m., at the Fred C.
