Obituary of Harold H. Martin
Harold H. Martin, age 76, of Morris, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 15, 1942 to the union of Harold and Alida Martin in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Harold graduated from Notre Dame High School and attended the University of New Hampshire. He was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving 10 years and was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Harold was always an active member of the community; he was a volunteer firefighter and was on the school board in New Hampshire. In 1975 he relocated to Morris where he planted his roots and raised his family. He was an active parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Harold retired in 2002 from Amoco Chemical Company after 32 years of dedicated service as a Logistics Manager.
Harold was the true outdoorsman who loved to hunt, ski, golf and snowmobile. He was an incredible carpenter and could build or fix anything. But above all he was a family man that always made sure those he loved knew how important they were to him. He shaped the lives of his children by his love and guidance.
Harold is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Rachel (nee Vaillancourt) Martin; his three children, Roger (Donna) Martin of Manistique, MI, Denise (Greg) Bergin of Shorewood, and Rob (Kelly) Martin of Morris; eight grandchildren, Lynze (Brandon) Nicoletti, Kristin (Jason) Durkin, James, Connor, Ryan and Logan Bergin, and Kaeden and Ryder Martin; four great grandchildren, Bralyn and Weston Nicoletti and Cameron and Gabriel Durkin; brother, Ray (Bonnie) Martin of Raymond, NH; and his aunt Rita (the late Lionel) Bergeron. Several brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He is preceded by his parents, and several brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
