Dwyer, Gloria E.
(nee Peters)
Age 79. Passed away peacefully at home Saturday, September 8, 2012. Born in Joliet to the late Nicholas and Jeanette (Darby) Peters, she was a resident of Channahon since 1962. Retired secretary to the principal at N.B. Galloway Grade School Channahon in 1980. Formerly employed at Caterpillar, Inc. Goldblatts Department Store, and the Joliet Arsenal. Gloria enjoyed sewing, crafting, and working with beads.
Surviving are her sister, Marcella Pershey of Joliet; brother, Nicholas (Marylou) Peters of Wilmington; sister-in-law, Dolores (late Robert) Butler of Verona; very dear friends, Ron and Patti Leslie of Channahon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 56 years, Thomas Dwyer (2011); one sister, Jayne Marie Weigerding; one brother, Dale Richard Peters; brothers-in-law, Robert Pershey, William Weigerding, and Francis Heenan; her nephew, Stephen Pershey.
Funeral Services for Gloria E. Dwyer will be Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 12:00 noon at the funeral home chapel. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Vitas Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Tuuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at:
